Cruise control unit swap OLD style -> NEW style
I recently acquired a couple boxes of random supra parts! Well my cruise control unit is apparently bad and i found a newer STYLE unit in one of the boxes.
problem is, my current "old" unit has only 1 connector on it, however there are 2 more connectors already on the existing harness that are sort up tucked up and unused. well, the "new" unit has female receptacles for my previously unused male connectors! all of the mounting holes line up and the new unit fits nicely....even the harness/connectors are the correct length and plug in perfectly to the "new" unit. Im in the process of swapping a new engine into it so i have not yet been able to test the "new" style unit. The ONLY difference was that there was a T-style vacuum hose connector, and i only had one vacuum line to hook up. so i just capped off one side of the "T". Thoughts?

Sounds like it's off of a GTE. Do you have a part number?
Here's the wiring diagram for the cruise control system: http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Librar...x?S=Main&P=100 GTE vacuum lines for CC: http://www.cygnusx1.net/Media/Supra/.../vacuum_3h.gif GE vacuum lines (on top): http://www.cygnusx1.net/Media/Supra/...es/MEL287B.gif

definitely off of a turbo. the cable is about an inch too short to reach the bracket where it mounts up. I attempted to lengthen it. as soon as i have a chance to test it i will let you know if it works.
