ECU swap question
i have a question....Im getting ready to swap out my old ECU due to the "unfixable mystery problem" (elimination of variables etc..)
and i was wondering...I have an 86.5 supra, but i think my new ECU is out of an 88. Im pretty sure the injectors in the 88 were "high impedence" and my 86.5 were "low impedence". Is this going to be a deal breaker?? Thanks guys!! (first time supra owner)

I'm assuming your supra is non-turbo, any ecu of a pre-89 will work on any pre-89 wiring harness as well as post-89 ecu will work on post-89 wiring harness. but it's better to match up the same years. Also, im not sure about the injectors low impedance. Im pretty sure they are the same, but would be interested to know.

For the benefit of the next person asking: The change to high impedance was with the '89 model and up. The low impedance (88 and earlier) had yellow tops; The high impedance (89 and up) had green tops. You can run high impedance injectors on a pre89 MKIII by bypassing the injector relay; You cannot run low impedance injectors on a 89+ (not by just adding the resistor).
