New 7M-GTE engine?

I'm interested in putting a new 7M-GTE in my 1987 supra turbo, and was wondering if anyone here has any sort of experience and advice about getting a low mileage replacement. So if you have any info or reviews about a website or shop that offers 7M's please post!!

Thanks,

Matt

I dont have any experience on buying one but i have been looking. Just google it and like 20 different sites or more carry the 7MGTE, but they are going out of stock.

try jdmenginedepot.com check what they have in stock...they usually have new stuff every week, or you can call them to make an order for a 7m jdm style, i live near their warehouse and tahts where i got my 1jz, if you cant do a swap yourself or you dont ahve a motor lift...then i suggest u let a mechanic do it for you...though i saved a lot since i did the labor myself along with another friend

You said you got ur motor from them, in what condition was it? how long have u been driving with that motor? Did they give u the harness and the ECU?

Just wondering what was wrong with your old engine. Is it rebuildable? I cost me about $600.00 in parts and machining for my engine. I put it together and installed it to save a bunch on that type labor. It wasn't very hard. Just curious though.

the motor i got from them was in amazing condition, it only had 55k on it and i just installed it myself a couple weeks ago, and yes they send a harness and an ecu, but when they sent me my clip they ripped out the harness for someone else, but i called them up and they replaced it for free, i havent had it for long but its a great motor, i think the 7m would be a little cheaper to restore rather than replace it as a whole, depending on the damage or what needs to be replaced

Ebay even sometimes has a 7mgte low mileage engine up for bid, you could try there if you want to save some money, i know there usually cheaper then what other places are selling them for.
