89 supra brake and batt lights on
i have an 89 supra with a 7mtge and auto. the car sat all winter and just started to drive it again and my wipers dont work. nothing on the wiper switch works. it may or may not be related to the major problem, which is that while driving with my foot on the gas everything is fine. as soon the gas pedal isnt being pressed at all, the brake light and battery lights come on. it doesnt matter how much you do or dont push the gas they only come on when your foot is off. it doesn't matter what gear its in or what speed you are going. it is also intermittent. 80-90 percent of the time it will do it. i'm sure the wipers aren't related but i havent looked at it yet so i figured i would put that in just in case it might be related. i drove it to work this morning (roughly 30 40 miles) and so i have not had time to try aything else or look it anymore than what ive said above. will check to see if the batt light is on and if its charging or not other than that i'm not sure what else to check. maybe a loose connection. oh, it is also very wet and rainy/drizzly today and the car does stay parked outside all the time.

When the 'Batt' light and 'Brake' light go on together, the alternator is failing. Check your voltmeter on the dash next time the lights come on. If no voltmeter, use a voltmeter on the battery connections. If the voltage is below 12V, the alternator is going bad.
