if you run a bov your car will more than likely stall between shifts...
that being said ebay is full of bov's and kits just search bov and the first page has 9-10 kits that come with the bov and a pipe with flange already fitted http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SSQV-...Q5fAccessories http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Type-...Q5fAccessories |

YOU CAN'T DO IT ON A STOCK 7MGTE ECU. IT LOOKS FOR THE AIR BETWEEN SHIFTS. IF YOU IGNORE THIS ADVICE YOU CAR WILL RUN LIKE SHI, BACK FIRE AND SOMETIMES SHUT OFF. AND YOU WILL HAVE WASTED YOUR MONEY ON A BOV! If you want your car to go psshh. Then buy a srt4 neon! |
^^^correct.
the GTE uses a KVAFM (karman vortex air flow meter) b4 the turbo, and that tells it how much air is coming into the system. if you create a too-atmosphere leak then the car will be receiving less air than it thinks its getting, and therefore, load up on fuel and cause stalling, poor idle, etc etc.. then only way to run a bov on a gte is to run a standalone system or delete the kvafm (not cheap and not easy, respectively). sucks but thats the way it goes. |
Any piggy back with tip-in and tip-out fuel controls allow you to tune this problem out to a good degree... it's just another $300 you weren't planning on spending.
Some people boast nothing but the occasional backfire, but I wouldn't count on being one of the lucky ones. |
i wouldnt wanna go that way, thats kinda like band-aiding a knife wound..

Adding a BOV to your 7mgte will not affect your idle in any way...
Venting to atmosphere will cuase you to run rich when shifting. This can cuase stalling and other issues, people have added a BOV with varying results. Do it right, Do it once.. Buy nothing from ebay... Stock BOV functions fine with stock turbo and fuel system... Think about your upgrade order and do not piss on your limited(assuming since your on ebay) funds. http://www.toyota-supra.info/forums/...mk3-supra.html Good places for parts www.horsepowerfreaks.com www.titanmotorsports.com www.driftmotion.com www.arizonaperformance.com www.beechperformance.com www.bicperformance.com www.rockauto.com www.shop.retro-spec.net www.mvpmotorsports.com www.toyotaworld.com http://www.jscspeed.com/ There are plenty of places that support the supra community and dont make cheap chinese low quality parts... |
