problems starting
i have an 87 base mode and when ever i go to start it, it always seems to be so close to starting but wont turn over the last little bit. what could this be?

Sounds like something simple with the Mass Air flow Sensor or a problem with the signal from the cam or distributor
1. Check your Mass Air Flow Sensor.. Make sure its still clamped on tightly 2. Check outputs from the Mass Air Flow Sensor KS(GTE), VS(GE), THA(GTE+GE) 3. Check outputs from cam sensor or distributor OR Short TE1 and E1 to read the codes, there should be one. Thank you, i changed out my maf, i think there might be a problem with my fuel filter because it was sitting for a while before i bought it, and when im trying to start it i can smell gas like pooling

no spark
If you smell gas that means are getting fuel and no spark... I'd look into your distributor or Cam sensor which ever one you have
