Default possible buy 87 non turbo

I found this supra on Craigslist: http://battlecreek.craigslist.org/cto/2354418944.html

He said it overheated and the intake looks charred from the previous owner running it to long. The exterior looks nice. Parts are out of the car and I would have to put it back together. I don't know if the tranny is any good either.

Tell me what you guys think?

Well you can get another engine for a reasonable price. Depends on how much you want him and how much you are willing to spend. Quality of any type takes money.

I am wondering what type of foxtrot alpha keeps driving an overheating car?

If it looks charred then there probably was a fire. Make sure the wiring harness is not damaged if you plan to use it. But 1k is alot for it since they were the most common for the first years of the generation. I'd say no unless it has a perfect body with decent paint and a nice interior for its age.
