Lots of Questions...PLZZ help lol
Hi everyone im pretty new to the supra scene, i have really only played with muscle cars and hot rods with my dad baught i just baught a 1989 toyota supra out of salt lake city utah. It has a 7mgte all stock motor with 68000 miles on it im going to make this into a daily driver/ fun car to play around in and take to the car shows as my family has our own car club called C.S.I. Custom Stock Iron out of idahofalls idaho from which we have 2 annaul car show and chairty events plus lots other fun things. one day if i get the money an a car to use as a daily driver ill do more work to it and make it a more exprssive project, but for now just a daily driver with some spunck will work. lol Im looking to maybe around 400 or so hp tops 450 as a guide line im looing at. Idk if i should just build the 7mgte block i have in the car as is for now and wait tell later if its worthwhile ir if i should look into buying a new motor which is kinda what im looking at doing and either doing a 1jz or 2jz swap or just stick with the 7m idk lots thinking right now lol. but looking for some ideas like if the 7m will work fine with doing 400-450 hp and im also going to put in a standerd tranny instead of the auto tranny in it i found one for 250 not sure its condition. but the guy said it does work... who really knows lol . but any insight or personal exp, would be very greatful and most gratefull... hanks s mch everyone

Okay if 400-450hp is all you're looking for then the 7MGTE will be just fine.
I'm really concerned about someone wanting to sell you a R154 transmission for only $250, either something is wrong with it or it might be a W58 that you don't want to put on a 7MGTE because it will brake. Either way just keep in mind if it's too good to be true, that's because it is!! Also you get what you pay for! Now as for modding the 7MGTE make sure you change the head gasket and replace the head bolts with ARP studs before you do any modding seriously! I believe they already have a modding guide some where on this site for the 7MGTE search for it on the site, Even if you already know what you want to do look that up it's important it will explain how to do it right and safe! Welcome to the supra community and happy modding!

Your welcome these 7M's are very temperamental the cheap and easy way can't be done with these, but if you do it right and build up a good understanding of boosted engine's then they can be very reliable and a lot of fun to own.....You can do basic exhaust upgrades and intake before replacing the HG but I wouldn't turn up the boost until you do replace the HG.

so qick question with the HG should i do a 1.4 or the 2.0mm HG. from what i looked at the 2.0mm is just for high performance and the 1.4 would be fine for my lil 400-450 hp lol
