Default Engine Rebuild help.

Hi well apparently i blew my head gasket again, so i want to rebuild my engine myself. out of the motor i would like to achieve 400 hp. Is there a kit set up to handle that amount of power? and or what parts should i upgrade since im down there, and a metal headgasket will be put on. sorry if this has been covered many times before, i couldnt find the information

its been covered a bit. but anyway, as for 400 hp, theres a few things we need to know.

is your car a turbo or N/A? if its turbo, simple upgrades can get you close. if its N/A, good luck with 400 hp. is it auto or manual? autos suck up more power than manual transmissions, so plan on it being harder to get 400 hp from an auto. next, what do you use the car for? DD, racing, mix? build it for what you use it for most, or u will hate driving the car.

turbo models u should look into a basically full rebuild for the engine. head, block, etc. balancing the rotating assembly will help. then a turbo upgrade (drift motion i think sells some good upgrades, or have your stock one rebuilt) would be a decent way to get some more power, as well as a FMIC kit, some 550cc injectors and a lexus AFM mod. probably upgrade the fuel pump while your at it, just to be sure. a walbro 255lph pump is a good unit.

having everything done right is the best way to ensure good power, so for the machine work, a reputable shop that is familiar with these motors is a must. as for assembling the block, check, re-check and then check it again. as long as your careful and follow the directions and measurements in the manual, it should go fine.

anyway, hit back with more info and we can advise accordingly

Some CP pistons with eagle h beam rods would be good for 400hp and more
And hks stopper HG is good

Thank you both, yes my supra is turbo and it is a 5 speed. And I plan is having it as a daily driver. I already have the 57 trim ct26 from drift motion. More suggestions please.. Note I want it as a daily driver but whenever a mustang pulls up I'd like to see it in my rear view mirror. So I'd say it would be mix? Of dd and race?

basically a high performance daily driver. so yea, if you want to drop the dough on them, the cp pistons and eagle rods would be a good investment.

lighten up the rotating assembly and be a lil stronger. not alot of ppl like the eagle rods, idk why, but they are good for the value as far as im concerned.

the turbo is a good start, and def the stopper gasket, combined with a set of ARP head studs would ensure plenty of clamping force for leak free operation.

after all that, a good down pipe and exhaust system would be worth a few hp.

if you really wanna drop some dough, some cams would pick up a lil bit too, but maybe too little for the cost.

a solid balanced bottom end build with a thoroughly machined and checked out head (maybe a small PnP?) with the aforementioned components would be an easy and streetable 400 hp i think.

if you wanna go all out, go stand alone so you can fully tune it and work out all the small kinks and tune it for exactly what you want.

your going to need a full gasket kit, in addition to the metal hg.

you will also need to check if the crank needs turned, bore/hone etc.

bearings, rings, freeze plugs, timing belt, possibly cam gears, but some ppl have had luck without needing gears after milling the head/ block.

so basically:

pistons, rings, bearings, timing belt, gasket kit. then any new valves and shims.
