There are many steps before determining the ecu is faulty. What steps were taken to clear the codes? Any diagnostics performed other than just checking and clearing the codes? If several ecu's are showing the same codes you might actually have a problem that would trigger one or more of these codes. The TSRM should have a section for the proper procedures on diagnosing and correcting the cause of each of the codes. Your going to have to read, test stuff and follow directions carefully but if everything checks out according to the manual, yes, you just might have several bad ecu's.
If ALL the wires are perfect you are very lucky. The engine wiring certainly isn't a strong point of the supra. Happy headaches! |

yes because i have repaired what the codes were calling for and everytime i fix one thing it tells me another, also when i get one code form one ecu, ill swap the ecus (without fixing code flashed) and now after swappign ecus ill get a different code, now my car did short out the power wire, also the wiring harnes burnt up so im thinking those shorts could spiked the voltage, and now that i have replaced the harness and power wire im sitll having issures

Eww fire, that sucks. At least the car wasn't burned up. What exactly was burned? Does the car run?

You know that little bunched up set of grounds that goes under the intake manifold right by the brake booster? Check those again. Make sure they're perfect. It would be best to check the continuity of the ecu ground if you can too. If the car wont run, somethings missing. Do the basic checks (spark, fuel, etc). Was the harness an exact replacement?

You must have a lot of extra parts laying around. Me too.
Test for spark first. Check if injectors have power. Check if they pulse. Check timing again. If the wiring is good, something has to be bad. It could very well be the ecu but the only way to be sure is test everything. If everything checks out, there is no question about the ecu. |

I really think it is because the car ran mint right after i dropped the harness in its when i ptu it in gear and tried to drive it that it started running like shit again, i heard somewhere that a bad alternator could do that is this true or a myth

Though I've never experienced it, I've heard of faulty alternators causing weird problems. A short that big MIGHT have fried the rectifier bridge or the regulator. Since the car doesn't run, to check it, you can remove the alternator and bring it to Autozone or someplace similar. Most have a machine to bench test alternators. If it checks out, that is one less thing it could be. Also be sure battery voltage is what it should be, you can bring it in with you to be load tested.
