7MGE engine swap motor mount line up
Bought a JDM 86-93 7MGE for my 86.5 non turbo. Appears to be newer than 87 and the motor mounts are in a different location on the block. Anyone know if the other holes( tapped) in the later model motor can be used to line up the motor in the 86.5 engine compartment?
Thanks. |

U can take the motor mounts off ur 86.5 motor then they will line up. I think u also have to use the 86.5 oil pan also.

They seem to be mounted about 4" farther from the trans bell housing on the new block than my 86.5

sounds like 5m vs 7m mounts. you should be able to take your old mounting brackets and put them on your new motor in the same place as your old one. all the holes on my block have all been tapped. just a matter of moving them.
some pics might help too
