No spark or fuel
Just finished rebuilding the 7mgte. I havent been able to get the fuel and spark problem resolved yet. So im turning for help from the supra forum. I baught a brand new ecu and new wire harness, new cps, and new ignitor. Im somehow not getting power to the fuse box, and wen I do manage by jumping the fusrbox, the car still doesnt get fuel or spark. Can I get help. Thanks supra forum. Carlos
Ps... Were is the fmi??? Excuse my short, shitty post. Im on my cell and my english is shitty. Thanks again.

Holy gazillion dollars!! I don't even want to know how much all those NEW parts set you back.
Which fuse box are you talking about? The one under the hood is fed directly from the battery positive terminal by an 8 gauge(ish) wire. Does anything in that fuse box have 12V at all? Ive had to repair this wire on several old supras due to corrosion, accidents, mechanics who poorly replace the battery terminal, terrible wiring repairs, etc. When you say no fuel, do you mean no pump operation or no injector pulse? |

I assume you've made sure the supply wire to the fuse box is in excellent condition. Have you double checked all your grounds? The two under the intake by the brake booster are very important for the ecu. Do you have fuel pressure?? You need to figure out if the fuel pump is not turning on or if the ecu is not firing the injectors. This will tell you where to look next. Check the cps wiring again. It gives information to the ecu for both spark and fuel. Use the tsrm diagram for reference if you need to. You need a multimeter or at least test lamp to trace power to and from the main relay, ecu, etc. etc... It shouldn't cost you any money to figure out whats not working, just time and patience... and a multimeter. Good luck.

I'd prefer to keep this on the forum for the benefit of others who may run into your problem.
What have you checked so far? Did connecting the grounds change anything? Do you have a multimeter? I need answers and actual measurements. Its impossible to start this car via a keyboard and screen without some important information. Here fill this out: Stored codes: Battery voltage: Voltage at main relay: Voltage at EFI fuse: Voltage at EACH ecu power supply: Ohm reading of ecu ground to chassis. Condition of ALL grounds related to the ecu including coil pack ground wire: Position of the timing marks on all of the gears and the cam sensor: Fuel pressure: When you crank the engine with a test lamp between the battery positive terminal and the ground wire of any injector clip does it flash? Does it stay on? Nothing at all?: There's your homework, the wiring diagrams and procedures are all over the internet and this forum if you need them as well as the tsrm, report back with these answers and we can go from there. Don't stress and don't skip any steps, it sounds like you're putting a lot of money into it. Take your time, be thorough in measuring everything and you will no doubt get it running again. |

Been a few days, any progress here? I'm interested in seeing your car finished. It seems like it is going to be very nice with all those new parts.

Sorry i have not been able to get online to give updates. I found a supra specialist. Really happy from his his price to get the car running completely. Pretty much, i was missing a hak sensor. that fixed the spark problem. The headlight issue however is what is bugging him. he thinks its the alternator...i will try my best to keep eveyone updated. hes going to make me a list so i can post it and show the forum why the car was not running.
