7M vs 1jz
which is better? it sounds like the 1jz motor is the one to get for major hp. but why is it so tuff, whats the differences , pros and cons? I see the intake manifold is routed differently to the IC but what about the block and head? both are 3.0L so they should be close to the same hp stock but it think the ijz has like 90 more hp stock?

i'm gonna keep this short n sweet
7m = 45 years old and a glorifed 2ltr na 1jz = 2.5ltr (not 3 hehe) built as a turbo engine, mhg, hyperteustic (sp?) pistons (stronger than normal) and loves to rev 7m = great engine when built correctly but lacks 50hp in comparison to 1jz both make power easy when built 1jz = tough off the shelf items (some are swappable with 2jz) 7m = parts EVERYWHERE 1jz = costs heaps to get shipped + installed + running 7m = use what it'd cost to do 1jz and you'd have a mean 7m at the end of the day it's all up to you if any bashing goes on here your post will be deleted, please stick to voting on the poll only... if i have left out a valid point you may post if you feel the need

1jz in the supras is 2.5 twin turbo. the 1jz did come with a single turbo vvt engine in the chasers. very rare though. the 2jz and 1jz blocks themselves are almost identical, except for 1 inch difference in the height to the top of the block.
