Default Pitch sound in gears

When driving the car, I hear this high pitch whine sound while going through the gears. No sound during idle or when at a stop reving the engine. This only happens when going through gears and I think but not 100% sure when turbo is spooling. Does bad bearing on a turbo make this kind of sound? The car was fine yesterday, ran it a little hard but nothing to brag about. This all started when I left for work this morning.

Any ideas where I should look??

Just wanted to add, I noticed the turbo doesn't seemed to be as strong as it was yesterday. Gauge is showing a less psi reading then normal.

Checked the turbo and it does have a little play in the shaft but still spins freely.

If anybody has any ideas where I should look, that would be helpful.

It's easy enough to look at the turbo, pull off the accordion hose and check if the impeller is chipped, contacting the housing or sucked in something. I've have experienced supras make funny turbo noises for 2 other reasons. 1) improperly installed garbage manual boost controller (high pitch howl under boost) removing the controller and connecting the compressor nipple back to the actuator solved this 2) big hole in compressor discharge hose (ran like hsit and sounded like a space ship) replacing the hose resolved this. Both cars saw lower than normal boost while this was happening.

Actually after thinking about it (i dont know why I did) it may not be the turbo at all especially if you say it's tight. If it only does it in gear and not at all while stationary, what does that say? Trans? Is the fluid low? Burnt? Differential? Is the fluid full? Two very easy things to check just go to lube shop or something. I tip the guys by me a 5 and they check and fill everything on all my cars, even the coolant. They should really pay the techs better, they'll give me anything in the store for a couple bucks on the side. I've never even got an oil change there. Anyway it's something else for you to check out.
