its going to be really difficult to make a mk3 into a good drifter, especially with the GE. its a heavy ass car and the motor doesnt make quite enough power for the chosen sport.
but, if your determined, lose as much weight outa the vehicle as possible, do the BPU's (i.e.-intake, exhaust, header, good tune) and then id suggest upgrading the rear end to a 4.10 ratio. beyond that, you could swap the w58 tranny for a full turbo tranny, but idk if thats going to yield you much. in all honesty, w/o dumping some serious cash into the GE, you wont make much power. but if you are like me, and determined to a "T" then you could try! im shooting for 200+ from my N/A and about 250-260 from my supercharged platform. now unfortunately CRE has planted an evil idea in my mind about twin charging later on.... damn you cre lol

You will need a suspension set up that will allow you to "slide", an LSD rear with proper gearing for the GE powerband (4.30), w58 manual swap w/ a good clutch (not neccessary, autos can drift too) I dont recommend the turbo trans it is VERY HEAVY, MK3 steering absolutely sucks for this type of driving but can be "helped" with tie rod spacers and other remedies, and most important before doing ANY BPU's be sure that ALL maintenace is up to date.
Or you can just go out and practice until you break it, fix it, practice until something else breaks, fix it and so on. Eventually you will find and fix all the weak points of the car while getting used to it... or better yet sell it and get an S13 or ae86 for drifting. Supras CAN drift but are GT cars at heart. If you drive it as it was built to drive, you will fall in love with it because there really is no other car like it (in this price range). Just an opinion, good luck with your supra. |

^^^agreed, very good info there. yes thats what i was speaking about "gaining little" from the turbo trans, aside from damn near indestructability, is it is unrealistically heavy.
everything else el supracabras said is great info.
