removing ac belt
I was unable to find any info directing me to the removal of an ac belt on 91 supra 6cyl, non turbo. There is a pulley that appears to be the one I need to loosen for removal and reinstallation, but after turning bolt the only movement is the bolt backs out. I would appreciate any replys. Thanks

the ac belt is on the drive pully. so you loosen that..

Make sure to loosen the bolt on the front of the tensioner pulley, then loosen the bolt that runs down from the top. If that doesn't work, just cut the belt

Thanks loosening the bolt going through the pulley was the trick. It allowed the tensioner to drop releasing tension on the belt. After removing the belt the clutch does not rotate and the pulley will but just a little it seems almost frozen. How likely is it that the compressor is rebuildable? Have any of you had it done? Is it more cost effective to buy a new remanuf one? Thanks again for the tip.

As for the compressor.. I usually see them from time to time as people do 2jz swaps and remove it. |
