In need of replacing my rear shocks in south jersey
 

In need of replacing my rear shocks on south jersey,
need someone with the proper tools to replace my rear shocks
and im willing to help on the process i would do myself but i dnt. Have all the proper tools like spring compressor,big jack so i can crawl, under car etc if your in south jersey and your willing to help msg me and i'll give you my number and we can lynk up i will pay for your time and few beers if you like, i need to do this asap my car is riding like crap the rear shock is shot and i would like to get a alignment after im due already! So let me know asap it will be apreciated thanks!

Advance auto has a loaner tool program where you should be able to borrow a spring compressor for free. It is a rather simple device and if you have stock struts and springs they are not under too much pressure like some cars. But still use caution since it is a spring used to hold up a 3600lbs car. And as far as a jack goes the factory carry along one will do since you should not need to be under the car to replace the rear struts. And a jack stand is not a bad idea.

Jack stands would be an excellent idea.

I tried doing it lifted the car in jackstands hott as hell you can probably fried an egg on the ground, took the wheel off,loosen the 3 nuts on upper shock inside the car, I take the the new shock i bought on auto zone they only offered gabriels, so i look under the wheel well and linspect both shocks, they are not the same im pissed now! im like these bastards! gave me the wrong sh.....! so put back everything back till i get my new shocks!! p.s got my money back!! went today to do a all wheel alingnment and after an hour and ahalf he tells me hey!! i got the toe in,out front and back,on the camber on the back i was able to do it in the front i was not able to free the nut cuz looks like its seized you need to replace that go to another place get it fix and come back ill do your wheel alignment again cuz you have warranty. Im like is this possible??:confused:

You mean the 3 nuts on the upper strut mount. I want to clarify this for anyone who's reading along, when I was working parts retail it was real aggravating having to explain to countless people that the strut mount is not part of the strut.

You may want to inspect this mount, if it's bad it would be the easiest to replace it when you get the new struts.

The bolts he is talking about are the camber bolts which do have a tendency to freeze up from rust. They are also rather hard to remove so they can be replaced. I would try spraying them with PB Blaster a few times to help free them and go from there. Also for struts, I like Rockauto for the prices. And you might want to work on the readability of your posts.

thanks i will check with rockauto then for the shocks and sorry i tend not to read what i write sometimes but will try to keep my eyes open.
