Just got a quick simple question that i was woundering. On a mk3, will a non turbo cat back exhaust bolt right on a turbo mk3. I was gonna purchase one on ebay but it caught my attention when its say (for na turbo)..

What are the specs on that cat-back? It'll probably bolt on okay, but with a turbo you're better off running a larger diameter exhaust than is usual for a n/a. Most turbo people I know of run 3" if they upgrade their exhaust system.

Yea its a 3" all fhe way back.

Shouldn't be a problem then. One thing to keep in mind is that when you swap out the exhaust you'll be losing the stock resonator. Droning is often a problem to one degree or another with aftermarket exhausts, so be prepared to either put up with it or do some creative tuning (new resonator, etc) to keep it to a bearable level.

Is this what you are referring to on ebay.

There are a few things about that exhaust that I would mention.

It should be louder, maybe annoying depending on preference.
It is probably made in china but that is why it is so cheap.
And also I don't know about fitment since the bends are different than stock.

Speaking of exhaust piping......I'm planning on making my own test pipe, and I can get some scrap stainless steel 3" piping but how long do u think I need in piping? Like...how long is the cat for instance? Lol

I would just buy one since they are only about 60. If you make one you are still going to need the 3 in flanges which will still cost you. But I did measure my high flow for you and got about 12in. It maybe 12 and 1/8 though since it is mounted under the car and makes it hard to measure.
