Engine cooling senor issues

While in motion my temp gauge sits in the middle of hot and cold. But at idle I see the gauge slowing raise to red then instantly drop back to the center. It only happened once because I try not to let that happen again. It only started doing this recently. And the sensor looks jack up. So what you think I should do.

Sounds like you may have air in the cooling system. Take care of the "jacked up" sensor and make sure the system is full and free of air pockets.

You know where I can get the connector or a wiring harness from

Which sensor is bad? Or which sensor are you looking at?
I just used female connectors for most of them. Many toyotas use the same sensors, take a stroll through the local junkyard and see if any connectors match yours. Otherwise i think drift motion sells some connectors.

Alot of the connector clips are broken so it slides off

That's very common an any old car. If you cant find what you need in the junkyard or a vendor, go to radioshack and go through the connectors there until you find something that will work. It's only one wire for the temp gauge, you should be able to at least fix that one..
