mk3 alignment Q?
 

today went to mr.tires to do a alignment on my mk3 wich i just bought 3 months ago! apter waiting 1hr. 1/2 the guy tells me that he got it preety close to spec he did the toe in,out on rear & front, he says he did the camber on the rear,but that he could not get the nuts free on the control arm that the bolts are frozen that for me to go and look for new bolts or used and replace the ones i have. after i do this then my steering will be straight and that he will redue the alignment .
now is this posible???:confused:

it is possible to come across a shop with good people in it sure.. saying he will re do the alignment once you get those bolts off sounds pretty humane to me. or are you asking if its possible to get those bolts off? im sure anything is possible with a torch

This is all too common on any toyota in Chicago. Those suspension bolts like to seize in the bushing and make life miserable. If you aren't familiar with using a torch, take it to a shop and let them deal with it, seized suspension bolts suck. I know one of the MK3 supra vendors carry the bolts, I think Drift Motion or SIP racing, maybe even Horsepowerfreaks.

the guy on the alignment place said that he did not use the torch on them because he did not want to mess up my bushings on the control arm.
can that really happen?
and can i just go to some type of shop and let them heat up the bolts and set them free so i can take it back for a wheel alignment again?

its more like a case of the guy on duety didnt have much experiance with a torch and didnt want to take the chance of messing anything up.. and yea bushings are rubber bro.

It sounds like the guy at the tire shop is being honest with you. Yeah, fire and rubber don't get along. The bushing will likely melt when heated and need to be replaced as well. That is not included in an alignment and that is why the tire shop doesn't want to mess with it.
New polyurethane bushings are available for pretty cheap. I would suggest stock rubber bushings if you use the car for normal daily driving.

i checked out hpfreaks and the bushings for the lower control arms are from energysuspensions polyurethane bushings can they install these on the stock lower control arms or will i have to get a after market control arm? thanks guys!!

They should fit the stock arms.

Driftmotion has them for a little less.
