7MGE To 2JZGTE Conversion help
hey all i was wondering what would i need to do a 2jz swap to my 88 non turbo supra i know as far as engine, wiring harness, and ecu but i was wondering about the tranny and the mounting for it cause i know you gotta get a special engine mount for the conversion and for the tranny im not sure if i can use the N/A tranny or a turbo 5 speed one cause i dont wanna do any rigging to the driveshaft so if anyone can please help me on this i would appreciate it

As far as I know there's not a bell housing which would let you use the W58 (You wouldn't want to use the W58 on a 2JZ anyway... too weak). You may use a R154 with a R154 bell housing from a 1JZ MKIII. You're going to need a different drive shaft anyway about it.... the MKIII Turbo drive shaft *might* fit, I can't recall.

I've read that the 2jzge MKIV Supra had a W58 for the N/A 5 Speed (it's a popular swap into some Lexus cars), so the bellhousing does exist. But I agree with CRE, you want a more robust transmission than that

ya that seems about right well i have a na 88 supra now and i was either thinking of a 2jz swap or a 7MGTE swap but idk if its worth it to do the 7MGTE plus idk what to get for the swap

IIRC i think you need to do a single turbo swap as well, i was looking into doin a 2j swap but decided to heavily mod my 7M, saving progress has started :), that might be for the 1j swap though, i just remember reading that if you kept the twins you had to beat the firewall in and i didn't feel like doin that, but other than that its pretty much what these guys are tellin ya-mounts, driveshaft, ecu, harness, intercooler, will probably want a better trans depending on what you want to do to the 2j as well
