You'll get more response if you post in the MKIII Supra sub-forum. I'll move this thread there for you.

For code 42 does ur speedo work if not then the speedo cable coming form the transmission is broken. so the speedo sensor is not getting a signal. If it does work then the speed sensor is bad. I don't know if that is causing that problem or not. Now for the code 11 check the main grounds for the ecu. they r 2 brown and 2 white wires that r bolted to the intake right above the starter. Just try cleaning them first and erase the code to see if it comes back again later.

Welcome, firstly the TSRM http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Librar...ection=FI&P=23 which is your best friend when it comes to the Mk3 doesnt seem to list a code 11. The code 42 I believe wouldnt cause the engine to stall or nearly stall although I'd appreciate if someone could back me up/correct me on that.
Assuming there is an interruption of ECU power supply, that would cause the car to cut out. Perhaps you could check your fusible link & other EFI related fuses first off (bearing in mind that old fuses can & do fracture without actually melting, causing intermittent contact) and then try clearing the codes to see what comes up then. Hopefully the link will provide more than enough to be going on with for now, before I go can I just point out that with certain issues it helps to know if we're talking turbo or n/a.

ma70: thanks for the welcome. according to a website that deals with obd1 codes. code 11 only comes up on cars up to 1991. thanks for the tips, i will try those things out and see what happens. btw, my supra is n/a. |

An erratic speed signal is as bad as not speed signal.
You're not going to find code 11 in any MKIII after '88. It is the code for "momentary interruption in power +B (and/or +B1)" and can also be caused as mentioned by poor grounding at the head. http://supra.co.nz/87tsrm/EFI/efi30.htm
