mk4tt brakes on mk3t
i wanted to know if u can get the mk4tt front n rear brake setup to bold on to a mk3 turbo if u have any info plz let me know
|
I've never done the swap but from what I've read the rears are bolt on but the e-brake will require some tweakage to work. The fronts are not so simple. Best way to do that conversion is to buy the correct parts from someone else. Most comments I read claimed it required fabrication of parts, alignment was off and it looked funny. My decision was to stick with stock brakes until I can afford to get a nice big brake kit.
A simple google search of the phrase "mk4 brakes on mk3 supra" will give you a bunch of info on this swap. |
dont the 3000gt brakes bolt on to the mk3's? ill research that real quick...
no, they do not, but r33 brakes aparently do. as do ls400 setups for the front. mk4 rears will bolt on, but youll need ls400 fronts with some brackets. bbk has good kits for economical price as well. |
Last I recall there are no front brake swaps which do not require additional hardware.... Other then the Previa minivan, dual pot calipers; No upgrade to the rotors just (arguably) more evenly distributed pressure. There are kits made by a couple different people for the purpose of swaps but the MKIV fronts are not popular (if you're going to the effort there are better and easier to come by solutions). For the adapters/kits you'll probably be able to locate them from DriftMotion, possibly HorsePowerFreaks.... I think SupraSport sold a setup but I'm reluctant to recommend them.

Here is another option. My friend found it here on driftmotion and it seems like a nice upgrade for the price compared to a bbk. You can buy the calipers used or buy them rebuilt for about 100 each. Also when you need replacement pads or rotors they should not be that hard to get or as expensive like a bbk would be.
