Have fun. EDIT: There was a TCCS test rig (came in it's own little suitcase and everything) which would live test a TCCS. They weren't common back in the day and are almost unheard of these days but you could see if a dealership near you has one. A rare find. The TCCS doesn't fail all too often though.... typically if there is an issue it's due to a leaking electrolytic capacitor and those can often be spotted visually and are easily replaced.

if your check engine light comes on with the key on engine off and it doesn't smell of burning electronics in your car its probably fine... check for codes if its communicating enough to flash the light i very seriously doubt "fred is dead" lolz

the ecu is responding to flash the check engine light and it does not smell like burning electronics. now its giving me a different code, its giving me code 41, which is the throttle position sensor. so my dad went to the junk yard and found a sensor from a toyota cressida and after i did research to make sure it was for a 7mge, it turns out that sensor is for the 5mge, my question is could i still use that sensor on the 7mge?

Did you test your existing TPS first? I ask because you don't mention it and wiring it just as often the source of that particular code.
Toyota doesn't list the two as cross compatible but they're such a simple component it may work as long as the physical characteristics (size, mounts and deflection angle of the interfacing tabs) and the pin-out are the same. If the physical characteristics match then test the 5M unit with a multimeter to verify that the readings match what are required by the 7M-GE. When connected (and after testing to make sure you're not going to short anything out by even plugging it in) you should see a value of ~.50v on the VTA pin with the throttle closed and a value of ~3.48v with the throttle fully open. Look at the list HERE for vehicles which used the same TPS. Look at the section for part number "89452-14050" (which should be the same as your original).
