3 inch exhaust

So i was just curius to know about how much hp i should expect to gain on my stock 1987 turbo supra if i get a 3 inch exhaust system with out muffler or cat? thanks.

u will get a lot of noise and probably 8hp increase? thats a guess...

suprra_girl 09-29-2005 02:18 PM

with intake and 3" exhaust like you mentioned i got 200whp on 5.8psi

but it depends on car, mileage, compression, alot of things

its all about the tuning

I was just curious about how much it costs to get your car on the dyno and how long the whole procedure takes.

to get the car on the dyno...depends on the place you go...the typical range is $75-150...maybe more...my friend got his rsx tuned and dynoed for $250.. i think it was a clubsport tune i dont remember...i got mine tuned for about $275, we went to different places, the procedure takes at least 2hrs...to set the process up, get the current map for the car, get the car on teh dyno, make sure all the connections are good, then makin at least one to three good runs, while in between those runs the map is tweaked, though i was able to help tweak the powerband so i could run the car the way i wanted to, thinking about it that i paid all that money and basically tuned it myself with some professional help, while my friend paid that much to get it tuned by a pro...like i said it all depends on where u go, some might be cheaper than others...but they also might be cheaper for a reason like maybe the guy doesnt know wut hes doin...just make sure u ask the right questions and not just...can i use your dyno? or can u tune my car?

The guy who dynoed my car was a jack ass. I paid 80 bucks for an hour.

He started in third the first time. Never went to WOT. Shifted on the machine, which caused my car to damn near come off the dyno more then once.

AND his machine was broken so it never read the appropriate HP, Torque, RPM range or MPH.

Moral of the story? Go to someone whom you know is good and decent.

haha thaat sucks....at least he got one thing right...pulling on third gear, well you did get what you paid for...an $80 tune from a jackass...damn shifted on teh machine, he coulda killed someone....
