need 90 degree turbo coolant line
 

I need a silicone 90 degree elbow for one of the hard lines that carries coolant either to or from the turbo. I'm not sure on the diameter either. If anyone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated

ok so i know that i need either an eight or nine millimeter for inside diameter. But i just cant seem to find a place to get one. I cant find anything on ebay either.

lol. you don't want a silicone line back there bro. you want good old rad hose.
take the old one down to auto zone and say.. hey i need this... they will hook you up.

pretty sure you misunderstood me bro. Im not replacing the actual hard line. there is a rubber hose that connects 2 hard lines that carry coolant either to or from the turbo. I bought a kit that was suppose to replace all my water hoses and what not, but i guess that one just wasn't included as well as a couple of other ones.

allright. well either way you dont want any of those flimsy silicone houses running any sort of cooling line. just make sure you got the thick ones.

silicone is more durable and stronger than the rubber hoses that are used. Thats the whole point in replacing the hoses with silicone. they can withstand higher heat and last longer too. So yes, I do want a silicone hose there.

If any of the "coolant hose" you've bought isn't fabric reinforced don't use it... you're just going to end up making water balloons. I've seen a lot of crap kits pushing vacuum hose as coolant hose or trying to pass vinyl off as silicone (which then melts); There is a difference and it's much bigger in real life than it is on paper.

At any rate, I don't know of any reliable suppliers selling silicone hose for cooling applications smaller than 1" in diameter. If the company who made your kit is reliable I recommend you contact them; It shouldn't be a big deal for them to sell you a few inches of scrap.

The kit that i bought is fabric reinforced. I just have a rubber hose where that one is suppose to go for now

There's nothing wrong with the stock hoses... they've held up for 20 years for most people. FYI, most blends of platinum cure silicone have a significantly lower shore rating than their rubber counterpart. Silicone often requires more fabric reinforcement or thicker walls to prevent collapse or blistering depending on application. Also of note is that silicone breaks down pretty quickly when exposed to oil or fuel; Unless you've got specially coated hose do not use it for PCV lines. Silicone has its up sides but it has just as many down sides. Lastly, silicone is slippery and hoses are more prone to getting blown off of pipes and nipples; Use proper clamps (don't use plain hose clamps silicone is also easier to cut than the OEM rubber hoses) and zip ties to ensure they're securely attached.

Most hoses i secured with a screw type clamp. There were only a few that i used the regular clamps on because they were extremely hard to get at with a ratchet. I didnt use any for oil because no hoses were suppose to be applied for that. I actually just read somewhere about the whole silicone hose and special coating on the inside. Haha. Really happy i didnt use them for any of the gas lines and such. I have silicone vacuum hose coming in sometime next week as well. I just want to go through and redo the hoses and such so i can start adding stuff for power. I dont want anything blowing out. Already had one coolant line go doing a peel out. :)
