86 Supra Turbo Potential?
I'd like to know if the 86 Supra Turbo has the potential of putting out 300-350 WHP on the stock set up with minor modifications. 7MGETE
How much boost can the stock engine/turbo handle? What fuel tuners are popular that application? To what HP are the stock injectors sufficient. What walls will I hit first with the factory set up? If anyone has stories of what they have done and what they have gotten out of it I'd like to hear it. |

im probably pushing my limits with the stock motor and turbo at 13-14 psi, i have an HKS fcd installed to let me get to 14 psi without hitting fuel cut protection. and custom 2.5 inch exhaust to allow the turbo to be able to spool past 10psi Other mods include but may not be nessasarry were custom 2.5 IC pipes and a spearco 3.5 inch thick IC and 1000cfm K&N filter and hks type ssqv BOV installed. i did the bhg a few years ago and replaced with stock toyo gasket due to no cashflow. I havent ever dyno'd it but best guess is 310-340hp by my friends calculations. all on stock fuel injectors and management. This thing is really faster than stock now and so far is holding strong withh 155k miles on it. due to rain i dial the boost back so i can get hookup in winter a bit , i know it wont last forever but im stocking up parts to rebuild it when she does blows lol

lol ^ bummer
well i absolutely loved my ct26 and it pull 278whp on 9psi... that was a 46 trim... extremely reliable also ppl are commonly going for 57 trim, 60-1, & 60-2... but the 60's are becoming unreliable from what i've read who else has an upgraded turbo here and can vouch for power & reliability?

i had the 57 trim on the ct26 for my 7m before i sold the motor...the 60 trims are alright...they can handle a lot of boost but as for reliability im not sure though the 57 and the 46 trim are more popular applications...for streetability
