Drifting an MKIII
hi...I'm new to the forum, I wanted to know if anybody has succesfully drifted an MK3 Supra...if so, what mods did you use
thanks |
I'm sure that you can about stock.
I've gotten a 2" lifted S10 Blazer with 31's and a 350 pretty slideways, so I don't imagine it'd be hard on a the car. |
all it takes is a little speed and to know when get on and off the gas, but you really cant drift like the pros without major HP, I've done several times but only on 90 degree turns and such, dry or wet, very easy.

ive gotten my mk3 to drift pretty successfully on 90 degree turns as well as smooth curves...it takes a lot more skill than a normal 240 or an rx7 because of its weight but it can be done, once ur able to drift an mk3...a 240 or an rx7 is pretty easy because it is balanced better weight wise, an mk3 takes a lot of practice and you will get frustrated, in wet weather its easy, but in dry it takes a lot more patience

Put a lot of pressure in the tires, stiff rear anti roll bar. Tires that are hard and have most of the treads slip best. Also narrow tires work better for drifting in a low horsepower car. A locked rear works better too. Take as much weight out of the back as possible. You really have to keep the rpms up to keep the tires sliding. The turbo would be better as it has more torque. Watch a Viper sometimes. It has so much bottom end torque that smoking the tires is easy.
