Default Coolant breather or surge tank help.

I was wondering what the difference is between a surge tank and a breather tank for radiator cooling systems. I was interested in getting one but im not exactly sure on which one to get. I want to get rid of my overflow tank but im not sure that putting one of these in would give me that option.
