Na-t oil cooler question?
 

Ok I'm doing a na-t and I would like to know if I can get a oil cool kit with a sandwich oil filter adapter to run the oil cooler. then use the stock oil cooler return hole in the oil pan for the Turbo drain.

The oil cooler return is too low; Too close to the oil level and may block the drain in a hard turn. People have lost turbos to this setup many times in the past.

The oil filter really needs to be remotely mounted no matter what setup you use. It's very tight in there once you get all the turbo plumbing and IC piping in place. It's the reason for the GTE's adapter plate being angled downward.

I have the gte oil filter/cooler feeder but I seen on other post you saying that set up sucks. So You think I should get one of the kits that relocates the filter then goes out to feed the cooler. What do you think about the turbo oil drain. maybe I can have a drain fitting welded higher in the side of the pan

Yeah, the stock setup diverts a only a portion of oil to the cooler and it's pressure based, not temp.

Yes, a return to the pan is the most common (as high as possible, but so high that you have the hose go horizontal or worse, dip down). Now keep in mind that you want to make sure the oil isn't going to get thrown at the drain as the counterweights and rod ends swing by... so you want to line the return up with a main bearing. EDIT: Of course, drilling out the stock drain location is always ideal; It's much higher than the oil level.
