any ideas for good shops to machine it? cuz around here there is no one that takes pride in it so not very trust worthy

Machine the head or block? I'd recommend finding somewhere in driving distance. Properly shipping either gets quite costly and I've seen pictures of them coming back with big nasty gouges in what WAS a perfect deck.
You could ask in the regional forum for your area over on SM who the other locals in your area recommend.
