Default 7m head gasket

i need a head gasket for 7m im getting a metal with arp studs first of all is there a certain brand someone would recommend and i heard of when putting the gasket on you could shave some of the head off instead of the block and that it would be cheaper and stronger is this true?

yes, get the head machined...and have them chemical bathe it. But, if u go metal, u will probably need the block machined also. Metal hg requires a very smooth surface. like...brand new type smooth. I ended up going with a ishino composite headgasket and arp studs instead of bolts. studs are alot stronger then bolts, and i didnt get the block machined so yea. how much hp are u planning on running?

The stock oem HG and arp head studs hold up pretty good.

get ur head checked, make sure nothings warped, and have them clean it like i did. machine the head, if u want take the block in and do the same thing. straight edge the block, if u dont know wat that is, take it to the shop. I ended up just using sand paper on the end of a drill and buffed the block clean, but i caught my hg very early. and arp head studs u torque to 120lb, and arp head bolts are 78lbs...so studs are alot stronger with the torque and design

Need to take it in for a pressure check. A small crack will drive you nutty!

Anyhow there is no such thing as a over build for people in this forum! The kids (no set age) are hard with their toys! This includes me! so the better it is put tougher means the less chance it will break soon.
