So i have searched this forum pretty damn religously, I am looking for some wheel and tire Specs, I did find a HUGE Thread about it, but stated nothing about 16" wheels. I have a friend of mine that is selling some Custom Steelies.

What i would like is to know if a 16x7 with a 0 offet will be able to fit my Mk3 with little issue.

The car at this time is on stock Suspention.

I am totally new to the wheel offset thing. I know that the stock Sawblades are 16x7 with a 37mm offset. So to speak if i wanted to see exactly where the rim will fit according to the fender, i can measure from the lip of the rim and 37mm outward and that would be a 0 Offset? Is that how that would work if i wanted to measure where a 0 offset would be compared to the stock sawblade Offset?

I just came across another wheel i like it is a steel wheel also, it is a 16x8 and +12MM Offset, i think that this wheel would actually be better as i could toss like what a 245's on a 8" wheel?

I want a more Flush look than the sawblades, but i really dont want to much Poke!

Yes, + offset sits closer to the center of the car; - sits further out. 0 on a 7" rim is probably pushing it... especially up front. I think your fenders are going to be over the rubber.... one big bump while turning and you may suck your fender into the well. On the stock 4x4 suspension you're probably ok, but if you lower it, well... Someone did it on SM, might see if you can find the thread there and the beautiful body job; I think he posted what he was running.

If he's your friend, then why not just try them out? You need to make sure you have the right size center bore or that they're built to accept hub spacers too; The MKIII relies on hub-centric fitment for proper balance.

8" wide with 12mm offset is pretty much the same as the 7" with 0mm offset as far as clearance... You're moving the wheel 12mm in, but you're adding almost that much right back.

The width of the tire is an additional consideration. 245mm is 9.6in.

Maybe you can answer this also, The Supra i am installing these on is a '87 Turbo. The Hub bore of these wheels are 3.3 inchs or 83.82MM. I think from what it looks like is that the bore on the hub itself is like 60mmish. So i would need a 60.1mm inside to 83.82mm outside diameter Hub Centric ring?

This is the plan i came up with today,

F 16x7 0mm Offset wrapped with a 205/50/16

R 16x8 +12MM offset wrapped in a 225/50/16

I know that the Tires will more than likely poke past the fender, but what ever. These steelies have a lip of 3" all the way around and are 8 hole (Circle cut).

i have 255 on 17s 10 wide fit no problem im sure 16x8 or 16x7 will fit no probs

Yes, something around there. A local tireshop should be able to hook you up with some plastic ones for just a couple dollars.

But at what offset? If they're 35 or 40 it'd be just about perfect... but an offset of 0 and you're going to have 2" of rubber sticking out past the fender.
