I recently had new struts and springs installed on my 87 Supra which lowered the car about an inch all the way around. After having it aligned, the rear camber is way off and is not adjustable according to all the places I've asked around. Has anybody else had this problem and is there any way of fixing this? Thanks for your help.

LOL tell the shop they need to get their eyes checked ;)
there are camber tabs in the rear... the only problem that arises out of them is that the tabs start getting old and bending... so they prefer not to change them in case the tabs break which then you would need to get them welded up again... ask them if they will adjust it for you and show them the tabs on the rear arms... it could be that it's not that they can't do it but they won't... let me know how you get on ;) |
Thanks for the info. Could you give me specifics on how to adjust the camber tabs. I was trying to explain it to a mechanic and he said he needed more info so he can do it. Thanks again.

well...
http://www.cygnusx1.net/supra/library/TSRM...M/ra/RA_61.html theres the supra owners bible ;) that shows removal of the arms but where it's got a picture of a bolt and a round tab and they mark "matchmarks" on there (figure 3)... that is the camber tab they need to adjust i would highly recommend considering another suspension shop to get your camber adjusted if this shop cannot find it for themselves to be honest but it is up to you... if you insist on going there maybe redirect them to the link i've shown above and they will then know what to do :) good luck on the camber upload some pics of your car if you can get some ;) |
Thanks for all your help. I don't have any pics to post, but will do when I get some.
