Stock top radiator hose diameter

So I'm installing a water temp gauge and I have to buy an adaptor but I need to know what the diameter of the top hose is? Any know the total specs?

Im doing the same thing and also need to know the size of the hose.

i believe its 1.25". or just under that.

Awyman18 12-14-2011 11:02 PM

well that works for me lol i mean a little bit of a stretched hose wont hurt anything

just be careful, if the hose is slightly smaller, you can cut the hose while putting it on which will compromise its integrity. also, after heat cycling, if the hose is too small for the neck, it will crack easily and could lead to a premature failure.

neway, just be careful. good luck with it.

What's so hard about sliding a caliper over the neck as it leaves the end tank?

a caliper?

That's a joke, right?

A caliper:

and its official, 7 days and 5 hours of sleep is starting to take its toll. no, wasnt a joke, i wasnt recognizing the context. yes, that would be a grand way to determine the outer diameter....

then again, if they had a set or could get their hands on a set, then i dont think they would be posting the question here.

I hear ya on the sleep thing... I'm sick as a 1000HP Supra right now and despite needing sleep desperately all of my symptoms have prevented it for days... :wtc: That and I'm also an insomniac.

You can get a plastic one at Harbor Freight or many hardware stores for a buck or two... So I'm going to assume that they A) didn't think on it B) aren't able to get to the car or C) are just being lazy. ;)
