This is only from memory, but in June 1986 we were lookng for a Camry when I first lusted after a Supra. The price was just over 20k. I don't have a clue how it was outfitted. Way out of my price range. Had to wait 13 years to get my 88 Supra. It was worth the wait.

My 1989 n/a, automatic, sport pkg (abs, lsd, tems, etc) cloth seats, was $23,500. I went to library and found it in Road & Track magazine.
Also, I was a Toyota salesman in Sept, 1998. The black, fully "equipped" (every option) twin turbo automatic was $43,500. Toyota priced themselves out of the market. I won't say the car wasn't worth every penny, but people could buy the "badge" of a BMW, or Mercedes for $43k. Even a Porche. I read somewhere that less than a 1000 supras were sold in 1998. 23,500 does sound more accurate than my 28,000. i'll have to find that piece of paper that says the actual price
