boost controller ?'s

so i have had a boost controller on my car for some time now just a cheap ebay one which has worked just fine. i had it located under the hood next to the turbo. i originally got it cause i could only hit 4lbs of boost at max. wen i put on the controller all was good n kept my levels at 10lbs max NO MATTER HOW MUCH EXTRA WEIGHT WAS WITH ME (meaning other people). the old one took a crap so i got another one. this time i have it located inside the car right by my e brake. the strange thing is before with the old one i had to turn the knob a few times to get up to 10lbs with this one im hitting 10lbs without even adjusting the knob AT ALL. and it seems like wen i really get on it hard that the boost wants to go past 10 but it just doesn't. i just dnt wanna over boost my car n blow the engine wen i have more weight other than myself with me. does having a long vacuum line affect the boost levels? i gotta make my 7m last until my 1jz is ready.

What type of boost controller? Ball valve, bleed or hybrid?

Peak boost has almost nothing to do with how much weight you're carrying... The increase in load will cause you to reach that level sooner but it won't increase it.

Don't worry about over-boosting fuel cut will kick in around 14psi. How did you set the the controller and what kind of pressure guage are you using when tuning the controller?

im using this one like i said nth special (http://www.ebay.com/itm/320820643562...84.m1497.l2649)

the reason i brought up weight is cause with my last one i had it set to 10lbs n never went over that. but once i had 3 other ppl with me (not small or skinny by any means) and i hit boost trying to get on the freeway at that point i hit close to 13lbs and my fuel cut off kicked in.

my pressure gauge was given to me by someone i think some off brand. but i have checked it wit a snap-on pressure/vacuum gauge and it reads correct every time n i check it monthly at that.

the way its set up i have the controller inside the car mounted by the e brake wit the line running to the engine bay through a small hole n the firewall by the horn across the firewall above the engine, and down by the turbo. one like goes to the waist gate actuator and the other goes to the turbo

That's a simple bleed type. If the exhaust aperture is too large you may find that it's quite touchy to adjust. This type is prone to shifts in boost depending on a few different factors where ball type boost controllers are prone to surging. How it's machined, assembled and installed all play part in how significant these symptoms are. Try running it in the engine bay with short hoses and see how you fare.
