Default Clutch won't come back up

Title sums it up. I pushed it down and I have to manually lift it back up with hands. I'm thinking its my slave cylinder or is my clutch burnt out? Bought this car a month ago. I believe the clutch is still stock. Its a 1987.

Floorboard wet? Have you raised the pedal and looked at the fluid level in the master cylinder's reservoir?

sounds like a leak in your master, slave, or lines going to either, as cre said find the fluid, find the leak...
when in doubt, check the tsrm.
