What to offer for mkIII
Heres the description.
"1987 Toyota Supra Turbo with 69,815 miles. 7M-GTE original engine. Great condition. Turbo works great. Runs smooth and sounds amazing. Clean title. Purchased the car in Norcross, Georgia and drove it to California in 3 days with no problem. Timing belt tensioner and timing belt replaced. All spark plugs replaced. Head gasket was replaced at 67,000 miles (new head bolts torqued down properly.) Goodridge G-Stop steel braided brake lines. The radiator, thermostat, and fan clutch all replaced. Replaced transmission fluid, differential fluid, power steering fluid and brake fluid at 65,000 miles. JIC Magic Titanium exhaust pipe. Upgraded downpipe. Cusco coilovers. Apexi intake installed. Work Equip, 5 spoke, three piece rims (staggered fitment.) Rims have been repainted, resealed and all lugs torqued down (no leaks of any kind.) All valve stems replaced. Tires are like new with all its tread remaining. Falken Azenis RT615 Front: 255/40r17 94W Rear: 275/40R17 98W. HKS turbo timer custom installation. Rear bumper paint is chipping. Hood paint is faded and there are minor scratches around the vehicle. Leather interior is in decent condition (minor tears on drivers seat.) Back seats appear to have been used very little over the past 25 years. Dashboard still looks great. No cracks or damage. This MKIII is in great shape for being 25 years old! No oil leaks. No accidents. Runs & drives great and owned by a non-smoker. I don't drive the car as much as I'd like. Didn't even put 5,000 miles on her." He's asking 7500, but think thats too much still. what would you guys pay for the car? |

make sure you check the trunk and under the spare tire to make sure of no rust. also see if the person will let you test drive it real hard like get it at least to 5000 rpm's for almost every gear. just to see how well it can handle high pressue in the engine. also if its an automatic those trans missions are nothing but problems and need to be replaced thats an automatic 2500 off the price. cause you will want to and need to replace that with a 5 speed. other than that i'd still say around 4-5g is a fair offer but 7500 is asking too much.
Also if possible weither its a targa or not get somone to spray alot of water on top of it (targa on if it is) and sit inside and see if you can see any leaks in the interier. I didn't do this and didn't think it was a problem but i didn't know that the person kept it in a garage all the time. And finally ask to lift the hood and pull the back spark plug wire and see if there is any oil around the plug itslef (flashlight needed.) Last edited by spunkenhimer; 02-12-2012 at 12:47 AM. |
