i have heard of guys running 300-400 hp with no problems as long as you dont get wheel hop.
wheel hop=w58 explosion. there is people running around 600 with the w58, but they only get a few 1/4 mile runs before she bombs. newer years of the w58 are no different than the 1982 w58 sitting in my garage, just shifter locations change over the years.
