Steering Return/Send lines, Brake Dust Cover
Hello,
I have an 88 7mgte being rebuilt. I was informed the power steering send/return hoses need replaced. Does anyone know of a non-dealer source for purchasing these hoses? Im not familiar with what these look like (the car is in the shop) and I am not having any luck finding what part he is talking about. When I search for return/send lines I get 1.99ft parts. I am quite sure these are large diameter and cost 4-500$ at toyota. Also, Im looking for a solution for my rusted out brake dust covers on the front left and right side. I found what seems to be the part at TRDparts.com but that site seems less than acceptable as a parts source (they do not answer the phone). Thanks in advance. |

is it the hardline/cooler that is in need of replacement? you should be able to buy high pressure power steering hose from your local auto parts store.

The high pressure hose from Toyota is a killer... You could have one made at a hydraulic shop for less. The return hose is under $20 from Toyota. Big chain stores will usually beat Toyota by a mile on some things:

Through their website you'll get what pretty much amounts to the shop discount you get from buying locally. They're reliable and quick, unless they have to ship something in first. Their website is at www.Toyotaworld.com. Some people here recommend another site but I can't recall who.

Steering Pump line MK11
Doing this job now because I guy wanted to buy the lines off one of my cars. I've got the pump off and pressure line off the pump wondering where it attaches on the other side for the MK2. I haven't gotten that far yet. I am guessing the steering box somewhere. If I had know it was this much work I would not have agreed to sell it for cheap. Looking for any diagrams on the location of the other side of the line from the pump to the steering box.
