Hey guys, I just picked up an 87 turbo in December. Had some really nice weather lately so I decided to give her a tune up. I replaced the air filter, spark plugs, spark plug wires, and since I had to pull off so much crap to get to the damn plugs I went ahead and did the valve cover gaskets as well.
While I was in there I figured I would do a compression test too. Here is what I found. no. 1 cylinder - 180 psi no. 2 cylinder - 185 psi no. 3 cylinder - 165 psi no. 4 cylinder - 165 psi no. 5 cylinder - 170 psi no. 6 cylinder - 185 psi I like how high the readings came back. I performed the test on a cold engine and cranked 7 times for each cylinder. However, I am not sure if I should be concerned with the large difference on cylinders 3 and 4 vs the rest. The guy I bought it from has records that I haven't picked up yet, but he said the HG was done already. Its a super clean car with 91000 miles. What do you guys think? Thanks in advance. ![]() Last edited by Wileyk24; 03-12-2012 at 02:35 AM. Reason: more Info |
