How heavy is the clutch pedal on 86-92 Supras?

This may sound like an odd question, but I'm looking at 1986-92 Supras,
and I generally prefer a stick to an automatic... but...

Part of the reason I want to get a Supra is because my foot is killing me
from the heavy clutch pedal in my 1992 4Runner. Most of the time it's
not so bad, but recently I got stuck in stop and go traffic for an hour
with an injured foot (it's been hurt for several weeks and was healing slowly
until I got stuck driving in heavy traffic last night).

I'm going to switch to my MR2 for a while, but can't carry both of my kids,
which is a problem 3 days a week when we go to Taekwondo classes

Also, how are the Automatic Trans Supras (86-92... MK 3?)

How is the mileage (MPG) on Stick & Automatic Supras?

I really like my MR2, but need a 4 seater.

I think it is a lighter pedal than my late 1990 Toyota P/U and 1992 Celica. Of course, I just recently replaced the master an slave cylinder last year.

P.S. I should say easier, not lighter. I drive mine in city traffic commuting daily, and my leg certainly doesn't feel as tired as the Celica at the end of the day.

P.P.S. I'm getting 18-19 mpg city in my '88 N/A 5-speed with 264,000 miles on it. Hwy, I'm getting better than 25 mpg.

It depends more on the pressure plate of the clutch and how smoothly the throwout bearing moves. I've been in an N/A with two different OEM spec clutches, the new one was feather light, the older one was pretty firm. The return spring in the pedal assembly could be softened with some annealing. Haven't ever driven an unmodified GTE with an OEM clutch, so I can't really comment there. You could look for a larger master cylinder to swap in.

My old Camaro would have had you screaming in pain... monster clutch, monster grab.

What's wrong with the MR-2? Take off the front hood and mount a seat in the frunk... the other kiddo can sit on the rear deck lid. :bigthumb:

I think the 4Runner clutch pedal effort may be higher than it normally was.
Tonight I could hear that the throwout bearing is going (gone) bad.
I'm probably going to have to park it until summer - I don't have a shop
to work in anymore (we had to move closer to the city, which meant
I lost a lot of space. In Seattle you can't just do it in the driveway
like I did when we lived in So. Cal.
I miss the huge barn we had in Alabama. I miss a lot of things about Alabama though. :wtc:

on my 7mgte 5speed manual im geting about 21-24 mpg city but thats cause i granny it constantly because i dont have money for an excessivly high gas bill every week,i just replaced my master cylinder and the effor feels a little firm initialy but about 1/2 way down feels nice and easy but im still on a clutch i didnt install so cant realy say wat it is
