My guess is that it would work fine as long as you could adapt the electrical signals (control/sensor). I believe the front and rear calipers were both larger in the mk4, so the proportion is likely still quite close. Worst case, you could install a brake bias adjuster like this one:

...of course, you could always take it a step further, and upgrade the MKIII with MKIV calipers&rotors too!

so it could be done. that would be an awsome set up not to mention expensive lol

ROFL! These are MKIII owners Phil. EVERYTHING is expensive. I had a guy try to haggle me down to a dollar a piece on a new set of NGK Iridiums plus $20 for install. :rofl2: Not trying to offend all of you.... You're not all like that... Just most.

pandrade 04-13-2012 09:35 PM

what i mean was expensive was the mk4 rotors and calipers and abs and aditonal hardware needed, the willwood piepce not really

If you're saying you couldn't find a set of used MK4 TT calipers for a fourth or less than the cost of a good aftermarket Brembo, StopTech or AP Racing calipers, then I'm a monkey's uncle. From that perspective, MK4 calipers are CHEAP, and not expensive - wouldn't you agree?

Note: You were going to do the abs unit conversion even if you stayed with MK3 calipers, so that's not part of the comparison, imo.

yes this is true and i do agree , but im a high school kid whith not alot of income so even 300$ is quite a bit for me. thats why i ask what would be needed so i can collect piece by piece over time and hopefully some day have a bad asss mk3 whith 4 channel abs

staying whith mk3 calipers i imagined i would have to find a used abs module from a mk4 and i really dont know how much thoes are running for now adays

Here's another couple of reasons that there's no way in the world you can call $300 "expensive":

This is a high performance and modification forum. Sorry to be so blunt, - just 'keepin it real' - but the world of high performance and modification is NOT an inexpensive hobby. If you're looking for a cheap (i.e. not "expensive") hobby, then maybe you should take up power walking? *shrug* If you really want to actively participate in the world of high performance modification, then either take up a second job, or maybe just wait until you've graduated from your schooling before you start upgrading your MK3. I honestly don't mean to be insulting, but for the money, if you REALLY want to upgrade the performance of the braking system on your MK3, then get the used MK4 parts - all of them, including the used MK4 TT ABS valve body, ABS ecu, calipers (etc.) and brand-new MK4 TT rotors - and do the upgrade right. For the money, I promise you that you won't find any better braking system upgrade.

Please keep us informed, and let us know if there's any additional information that we can provide to help you out.

i understand these cars arent cheap. im not a cheap person im just frugal. the way i have always upgraded my cars and bikes was save enough to get everything ill need then install . since im buying used parts i can take my time and collect the best of used and amek shure i have EVERYTHING ill need ( if that makes any sence), i know i wont have all the parts for a bit but i like having the information ready so when i do get the parts so i dont have to wounder " would this work"

i know this is the best brake upgrade i agree whith that compleatly
