failed smog HELP!

As the title says i failed the CA smog test only because of the EGR and the mechanic was telling me that he wasnt getting any vacumn from the car and that it would take an hour or so to fix (to check the hoses clean out the EGR and check for anything else) but that he couldnt promise anything...so i decided to ask you guys since i trust you more than him right now plus he is charging 80 and that could possibly add up you never know oh yeah my Supra is a 91' non-turbo 160xxx miles ....any advice will be appreciated

So clean and replace hoses and the vacuum ports at the throttle body... :bigthumb: Cleaning out the intake plenum and the piping from the cooler to the EGR regulator to the plenum would be a good idea too.

As for the throttle body, if you're uncomfortable with removing it (can't imagine why though) you may just spray carburetor cleaned into each of the metal nipples until it sprays in freely. It's best to do with the engine running so it doesn't pool up and try to pass through the engine all at once.
