Okay so im reviving this thread cause my frustration is thru the roof. Replaced the oil sender unit with brand new part. Check to see if power is at gauge and it is. Still no oil pressure......wtf :[

Anyone help? Lol :help:

Have you tried CRE's suggestion of wiring in a rheostat to test the gauge? You can also check the wiring from the sending unit to the gauge using an ohmmeter and checking resistance. Infinite means there's a break somewhere, high resistance could indicate a poor connection, and little to none would mean your wiring is intact and the fault likely lies in the gauge or a defective sending unit.

+1 for the break down

Well I have very little resistance, the sending unit is brand new as of a day ago. All my other gauges work but that one. I've also check voltage at gauge, same as what's coming off the sending unit. Guess it's the gauge.
So another question....when people install after market gauges in their stock cluster, when you drill out the old gauge does it mess up the circuit board for the other gauges? Im just asking cause I don't mind having a aftermarket id actually prefer one but I don't want a pillar gauge housing.... |
