1987 supra mk3 rear upper control arm
I am a proud ower of a cherry 87 supra runs great looks great iv restored 80% of it and now i run into the prob i need rear ball joints which is a control arm...prob being is i live in michigan and the dealers, auto parts places, everyone i can think of to web search and call iv dont and can not find anything oe or after market, if anyone has any suggestions please let me know im willing to do adjustable or stock or what ever i can find just tired of looking at my car and not driving it cuz of stupid ball joints like realy!

damn michigan roads
yea thats what i figured too but no salvege yard that i can find anumber or web site to has any, im planing on driving to ohio this friday to get a pair of used and cross my fingers the ball joints are still good. know of anyone who has does these before

On a serious note... The ball joints themselves aren't serviceable and there's not enough meat on the arm to machine them to fit a press in replacement. Someone did have a set of fronts machined quite a while back to accept a smaller, press-in ball joint from GM but the service life isn't expected to be great. I believe it cost him a couple hundred bucks but the upside is that in 5 years it'll only cost $80 to get them replaced again. Which is WAY better than the $585 Toyota wants. You'd need to talk to an experienced machinist and supply them one for dissection to see if it's possible with the rear arms. Toyota does still sell the arms new.
