today i was playing around on wet pavment and im pretty shure I burned the clutch a little bit, i am running 10 psi of boost, with a straight pipe, any way the smell freaked me out. im not exactly shure if it was burning tires or clutch , any one else have clutch problems. now I have to pat the poor girl on the dash and tell her ...I'll never do it again baby.

I've blown up a couple of pressure plates, taken out several discs.

sooo how easy or how hard would it be pull the drive line and drop the tranny, with out pulling the motor in order to replace the clutch disc, and any recemendations on a nice clutch kit looking for a good mix of street and drag....the only ones i have found are like 400$$, but nice.....can any one beat this...?????

Smelling a burning clutch is not that uncommon really. The problem is whether it slips or chatters while engaging the clutch. If you are driving down the road in second or third and mash the gas pedal, does the engine rev up but not speed up?
I had a very weak stock clutch in an old Fiero and after repeated starts and stops while teaching my daughter how to drive a clutch, it started slipping. After it cooled down it was fine again. You can adjust the pedal travel with the adjuster nut on the clutch master cylinder too. Let us know. Russ |

thanks for the reply.....no it doesn't jutter, it's clutch slip, from trying to give it to much out of the hole i have been playing with it to see, such as, down gearing from third to second, and punching it around 90 degree corners to see if i can get it to power slide...i figure it's going to slip there if the disc is worn,it doesn't, but im still going to upgrade it, the car would perform so much better from a stop...i just noobed the clutch and burned the disc a little bit...shit happens
