Tail conversion
I just installed my 91 turbo tails on my 86.5 :naughty:
They look so nice. I just wanted to tell everyone, also wanted to clear up that everything swaps over. However it was necessary to drill two holes for the lower trim on the center piece and widen the holes for the tails. Other than that. Direct plug and play, Oh also the lock for the hatch does not fit. |
Yep, done the same thing, No 1 is the standard UK. No 3 is a JDM import.

Ya I love these tails. However the US version is lighter on the center light so im just gonna tint them all

ugh they make you put those ugly reflectors on the back? yuck.
glad to see you cleared that up. |

you said those are lights? how interesting.
lol what are you doing driving a RWD sports car during a mountain snow storm.. we've all been there I suppose.. I've been seeing more reflecting tape across the bottoms of some vehicles on the freeway nowadays. I said, Oh that would look decent if it was an actual light. better safe then sorry is the motto. No matter how big an eyesore. |

As for the whole reflector or fog light thing... Reflectors are a weak attempt to increase visibility in adverse conditions. They're not just useful for snow and rain... they're VERY handy in FOG. The only problem is that reflectors are dependent upon the light from the following car's head lights reaching them in a sufficient quantity so that there's enough left to actually make it all the way back for the trailing car's driver to see. IMHO, reflectors are only good for trying to keep people from hitting your car when it's broken down on the side of a dark road with a BHG. :naughty: Rear fog lights are where it's at. ;) |
The only car I have owned that wasnt RWD was my mr2. I grew up driving rwd in the snow so It's something Im used to. Won't say I like it a whole bunch but your right, tires have a whole lot to do about the way you preform in the snow.
agreed that fog lights > reflectors. |
my volvo has rear fog lights built into the actual tail lights but thats expected of a euro staton wagon. they dont look half bad especialy when you travel alot and they saved your ass in snow and sleet many times

I drove my 87 N/A LSD (4.30) Supra around for numerous Montana winters. I only had one incident where I ran into a snow pile at 2 MPH and broke the lower portion of my front bumper due to a steep down hill and some ice. That is not to say I wasn't sideways around most corners, but I never hit anything else.
