HKS AFR type?

I couldn't find anything on this in the FAQs so im posting it here.

I got rid of my EGR valve because part of where it gets bolted on to the head got cracked apart, and it was to expensive to replace.

I want to go with the HKS AFR to fix the air to fuel ratio.

I'm sure I should buy type L because that is the one that changes the voltage coming from the AFM.

and the other type D changes the voltages from the map sensor to the ECU.

I want the one connects to the AFM right?

You have a KVAFM.

There are many ways to adjust for the absence of the egr though... Pulling a couple degrees of spark advance, making sure you have a healthy cooling system... Running without the EGR on a heathly 7M isn't likely to kill anything you just lose some extra cooling, a microscopic increase in mileage (seriously immeasurable) and emissions compliance. I'd look for a JDM ECU myself but keep in mind that it has a governor built in. I'm all for going as far as swapping a head to keep it (heads are cheap and easy to find as any 7M head will do, just swap the cams and reshim) but it's nothing I'd kill myself over.

I was really worried about that but u make it sound like no big deal. Thank you for your reply. Now I don't have to worry about spending another hundred dollars on the AFM module or getting a new EGR valve.

Oh, it's definitely a beneficial system and if it can be recovered I feel it should. But, it's only operated at part throttle when the car is up to normal operating temp. It doesn't affect your WOT performance except that the cylinders aren't cooled as quickly when you let up. The additional cooling may reduce ping as well allowing the ECU to push the timing a bit further. As the recirculated exhaust gas is inert there's no reason for your AFR to change whether there's more of it, less of it or if it's not present. Adding fuel and/or pulling timing serves to help cool things back down.

I think all of this is in the FAQ somewhere but I think it's probably time to revise it.... I think I can probably explain it better these days than I could have in the past.
